Born in Rio de Janeiro, Ron King left
Brazil aged 12, but it never left him. For
over 50 years, the UK-based artist and
prizewinning maker of artists´ books has
made sculptures and artwork inspired
by the bandit group who ruled parts of
the north of Brazil during the 1920s and
´30s. His larger-than-life sculptures will
be on show and during the weekend Ron
will give a number of talks in the gallery
about his work and his on-going
fascination with Lampião, the Brazilian
Robin Hood, and his not-so-merry men.
FernandoVilela, author of
Lampião
and Lancelot
, will join the discussion.
